Collin Goes

Beyond his love for the language of numbers and his enthusiasm for engineering, Collin Goes is a father of two, a loving husband and a passionate reader. He brings 10 plus years of experience in the area of Accounting and Finance. We are pleased to announce that Mr. Goes, CPA, CA, is officially a member of the Greatway family, and in the spirit of welcome, we’d love to share a bit of Collin’s story.

I’m an advocate of life-long learning and the pursuit of knowledge. I firmly believe that education and experience are the catalysts that help us fulfill our full potential. Integrity, family, and courage are amongst my values; so too is being bold enough to step outside of our comfort zone, to try new things and learn from everyone. I’ve recently been quoted saying: “No one knows it all. I can learn from you, just as much as you can learn from me.” I can say my openness to learning from everyone has surely contributed to what I consider success – and will, undoubtedly, continue to spur my growth personally and professionally here at Greatway. To me, the “Triple P Philosophy” isn’t just a mantra, but a mindset and behavior. This carried me through my schooling, graduating from the University of Calgary’s Haskayne School of Business and thereafter pursuing a career in accounting and finance. During my time at EY, LLP, and PwC, LLP, I was exposed to a multitude of disciplines within firms from auditing, transaction advisory, to taxation. I also served as the VP of Finance for a private brokerage firm and had the responsibility to ensure efficient accounting operations and conduct due diligence on the financial well-being of a broad range of issuer partners, seeking out capital in the private markets. I’ve also been blessed to have the opportunity to be featured in the 2020 Top 100 People in Finance magazine.

Throughout my professional experience, I have always valued the importance of service and compassion. In between helping clients and raising two kids, I enjoy riding motorcycles, cooking, spending some time reading, and most importantly time family. (Related: Add Value)
